Love it.
Clean, crisp, near-minimalist XX-style on opening track, memorable change of beat in chorus on River and Downtrodden - closing guitars on the latter are pure 90s The Cure. Tokyo’s rock guitar and keyboard combine brilliantly with vocals for a sense of time and place, and the guitar trailing vocals in verses on Pink reminds me of indie all-time great The Sundays.
Lovely marriage of a funky commercial sound with an indie jangliness that’s reminiscent of House of Love. All Excellent.
